In 1996, in-state tuition at UM was $5,710.

In 2012, it is $12,994.

That is an increase of 127%.

This has priced working class, lower income, and minority students out of the university.

The UM administration has taken out more than $2.3 billion in loans since 2007 for the construction of new buildings and luxury boxes at the football stadium.

Students and workers had no say in this matter and UM will now have to pay off these loans with interest for the next 50 years.

Since 2006, university admins have raised tuition 22%.

In the same time period they gave themselves a raise of 27%.
